About us
Belbridge Fleming Law was born from a merger of Belbridge Hague Law and Fleming Muntz Solicitors in 2024. Both firms have a rich combined history of more than 300 years.
Our firm is built on:
Local relationships
The decades of experience held by our Directors and staff is matched by the relationships that they have built with individuals and groups within our community. These relationships aren't just built on trusted legal advice, but on community spirit, volunteering and sporting group involvement.
A progressive mindset
We use updated systems and technology alongside seamless processes to service clients locally and beyond. We proudly take a modern approach to people management for the benefit of our staff. We offer a variety of communication options for all, and prioritise efficiency and approachability.
Real world knowledge
We don't just invest time on continuing professional development through books, journals and webinars. We take the time to consider the knowledge that we have gained and how it can be used for the benefit of our clients through document development, system improvements and enhanced technologies.
Making things easy
Most legal processes can be overwhelming the first time you navigate them. Thankfully, we have collectively resolved thousands of legal transactions on behalf of multiple generations of clients. We act as a filter for complexity and deliver our advice in plain english, clearly setting out the next steps and outcomes.
The birth of
Belbridge Fleming Law
Prior to 2024, Rob Meers had been a Director of Belbridge Hague since 1990. Rob started as an employee of Belbridge Hague Law back in 1986. Kellyanne Allwood was first employed at Fleming Muntz in 1998 and again in 2006 (after temporarily relocating) and became a Director in 2013.
In late 2023, Rob and Kellyanne began discussing the succession of their respective firms. Given that both firms were established more than 160 years ago, the protection of legacy and reputation was at the front of their minds.
Kellyanne and Rob quickly learned that they shared all of the most important values for nurturing a cohesive team that would continue to thrive in a family-first environment. Building on that foundation, they discussed their shared passion for continued education and the importance of building trusted relationships with clients and other professionals.
A plan was made to merge the firms from 1 July 2024, and the work began! Rob and Kellyanne made sure that every staff member of Belbridge Hague Law and Fleming Muntz Solicitors had a home at Belbridge Fleming Law. They took the best practices and policies of each firm and started laying the building blocks of unity. A few months, a new logo and countless hours later, the new entity was born.
Launch day on 1 July 2024 was just the beginning, and the Director Duo remain dedicated to honouring the history of the firms that represent their roots, while adapting to the future for the benefit of their clients and staff.

Rob Meers
Solicitor Director
Accredited Specialist - Business Law
Rob is a director of Belbridge Fleming and has decades of experience in business law, wills and estates and succession planning. When asked about his experience and what drives him as a solicitor, Rob continues to come back to the same core values:
“I do my best work when I am helping clients to avoid or minimise the risk of claims against their assets in the future. It’s a bit like playing chess and thinking 5 moves ahead – you need to think “what if X occurs”. I get the most satisfaction when a client comes in saying “I’ve got a problem, X has just happened” and I am able to reply “Don’t worry, I covered that for you in the documents a few years ago”.
I help people who are buying or selling businesses, or who are entering into arrangements with other people in the course of their business. I prefer to work with clients who are building their wealth, being positive, creating things – not looking over their shoulder into the past and arguing over past issues.
I do a lot of work advising people about the creation and maintenance of their wealth, and ultimately how to protect passing that wealth on to the next generation. Many families are now faced with situations where the risk of a challenge against their Will (after their death) is a concern – I can help those clients to prepare for such risks arising and help them to structure the ownership of their assets to reduce or eliminate such risks. I can also help them to prepare Wills in situations where they have a child who is disabled, or to prepare Wills to protect their assets for “their own bloodline” if a child is bankrupt, or where a child is going through a family law property settlement. I see a lot of “blended families” where the partners have different children from different marriages – I can offer advice about alternative ways to structure things to deal with those issues.
I really enjoy being able to help families across the generations, knowing what to anticipate and having the background knowledge of their asset ownership structures to be able to give proactive advice to them.
Some years ago a retired ex-farmer who was living simply in a very small community nearby came in to see me and said “Rob, I’m your best client”.
I enquired of him “Jack, what makes you say that?”
He replied “My grandparents were clients of this firm, my parents were clients of this firm, I’m your client, I’ve made sure that my children are clients of yours and I’m going to make sure that my grandchildren become clients here too”.
I agreed – “Jack, you are my best client”.
When we are at home, my wife Margie and I enjoy spending time with Patsy the West Highland White Terrier.”
